Calgary CEIP — Clean Energy Improvement Program
The City of Calgary finances energy-efficient home upgrades through your property tax bill. This is a real city program — not a private loan.
How it works
The City pays us directly for your project. You repay through a special charge on your property tax, spread over up to 20 years.
Why it's different
It's attached to the property, not you. If you sell, the remaining balance stays with the home — the new buyer takes over the payments.
Rates
Usually lower than unsecured personal loans or credit lines. Exact rates are set by the program and may vary.
Eligible upgrades
Energy-efficient windows and doors qualify. An energy audit is required. I help coordinate everything.

"I want predictable monthly payments"
The Low Rate plan is your best bet. Lock in 9.95% and spread payments over up to 20 years. An $18,000 project works out to about $174/month over 10 years.
"I could pay cash, but I'd rather not"
The Deferred plan gives you 6 months of $0 payments. Take advantage of the interest-free period and buy out the loan at any time — no penalties.
